Prep Cook

Overview

We are hiring for full time and part time PREP COOK positions at Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital, 16001 West 9 Mile Road, Southfield, MI 48075. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule:

Full time and part time; days and hours may vary, including rotating weekends and holidays. Further details provided at interview.

Fixed Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.

Prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Obtains daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef. Prepares items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes. Completes and follows daily production worksheets and waste log sheets. Tastes completed meals to ensure quality. Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures after each use.

Stores, labels and dates all food items according to policy and follows HACCP guidelines. Completes required documentation, reports and logs. Takes orders from customers and prepares items requiring short preparation time. Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner. Completes orders from steam tables and grills and serves customers at multiple stations. Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.

Resolves customer concerns. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirement:
One year of healthcare cooking experience preferred.
