At Health Source Saginaw, we are seeking Food Service Specialists to join our Dining team. Our kitchen plays an important role in supporting the health, well-being, and recovery of our patients and residents. By preparing and serving quality meals, you will contribute to a welcoming and supportive environment for the individuals we care for.

As a Food Service Specialist, you will prepare and serve meals for patients, residents, visitors, and staff across our facility through a centralized/decentralized pod service model. What You’ll Do:

The Food Service Specialist will perform the full range of assignments including but not limited to:

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Prepare food items as required, and deliver for catering functions, meals, nourishments, resident/patient snacks and floor supplies.
• Maintain proper inventory of all supplies in assigned work area and units.
• Assemble resident/patient food trays, working as part of a pod service. Read menus, portion food according to prescribed measures, and follow standards for accuracy, temperature, and appearance.
• Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and residents through various interactions, including telephone calls and in-person assistance.
• Wash and sanitize service ware, pots, pans and kitchen equipment using both dish machines and the three-compartment sink method;
  Clean interior and exterior of dish machine at conclusion of each meal period and properly store clean dishware.
• Visits residents/patients to provide and obtain information about food choices, preferences, dislikes and food allergies.

What We’re Looking For:

REQUIRED :

• Must be at least 16 years of age. A work permit is required if currently enrolled in High School.

PREFERRED :

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Serv Safe or other related certifications.
