About the OpportunityAre you looking to start a career in sales but want the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up? We are seeking a Sales & Business Development Trainee for a growing company in the distribution industry.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and taking on new challenges. Rather than jumping directly into a sales role, you'll receive hands‑on experience in different departments to understand how the business operates and how to successfully support and grow customer accounts.
The company offers an established training program, professional mentorship, and opportunities to develop skills that can lead to a long‑term career in sales.
What You’ll Be Doing- Work directly with customers to understand their needs and provide product information, pricing, and solutions.
- Learn how to manage customer accounts, build relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
- Gain experience with sales processes, order management, inventory, and purchasing.
- Assist with customer inquiries, product quotes, and order fulfillment.
- Develop an understanding of the company’s products, services, and industry.
- Learn how to negotiate pricing, support sales goals, and contribute to business growth.
- Work with experienced team members to develop sales strategies and strengthen customer relationships.
- Gain hands‑on experience with warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, and shipping.
- Participate in professional development, training sessions, and mentorship opportunities.
- Take on additional responsibilities as your knowledge and experience grow.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow professionally.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Confidence working with customers and building relationships.
- Interest in sales, account management, or business operations.
- Comfortable learning both office and warehouse responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
- Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school.
You’ll begin by learning the day-to-day operations of the business and gradually take on more customer‑facing and sales‑related responsibilities.
The training process includes exposure to customer service, inventory management, purchasing, inside sales, and outside sales. You’ll also learn how to develop accounts, prepare competitive pricing, coordinate orders, and support customer projects.
The overall development program is expected to take approximately two years, allowing you to build a solid understanding of the business before transitioning into greater sales responsibilities.
Some travel for training will be required, including occasional overnight trips. The position involves both office and warehouse environments, with some lifting, standing, and physical activity during training.
Why This Position?- $45,000-$60,000 annual compensation range.
- Consistent Monday‑Friday schedule.
- Comprehensive training and hands‑on experience.
- Opportunity to learn multiple aspects of business operations.
- Mentorship from experienced industry professionals.
- Long‑term career development and growth potential.
Whether you have previous sales experience or are looking to enter the field, this position provides an opportunity to develop valuable skills and grow within an established industry.
