Shift Premiums

Mon‑Fri (6 p‑6 a): $2.00 per additional hour.

Sat‑Sun: $3.00 per additional hour.

Summary

This position jointly protects casino guests, employees, and assets at Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos. Responsibilities include providing exceptional guest service, ensuring safety and security, patrolling the property, and performing all duties in accordance with departmental and property policies.

Essential Job Functions
  • Complete formal department training program.
  • Complete Tips training and use for monitoring and intervention.
  • Patrol and monitor all operational areas.
  • Check and validate ’s of patrons entering the casino.
  • Validate photo identification to uphold prohibition of alcohol consumption by minors.
  • Record and inform guests of cut-offs and removal from the property.
  • Security check‑in: check all identifications and packages during facility entry/exit; issue vendors appropriate day passes.
  • Know all emergency plans and provide assistance during emergencies.
  • Escort money transactions.
  • Secure, inventory, process, investigate, and destroy cards and/or dice.
  • Investigate injuries and incidents, civil and property damage complaints; contact Tribal Police for criminal issues.
  • Manage crowd control and evict intoxicated or unruly individuals.
  • Transport VIP guests if called upon.
  • Manage and oversee cage with TITO machines; monitor repair of gaming machines and ATMs.
  • Assist guests and employees with any first‑aid or medical emergency.
  • Oversee table game and slot department security, including payouts, credits, and failures.
  • Control count teams with escorts and verification of "clear" machines.
  • Generate and record reports on daily activities, incident reports, monitoring reports, and break‑in procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and vendors.
  • Maintain, manage compliance and report up‑to‑date information regarding internal control standards.
  • Remove unwanted individuals from the property as instructed.
  • Report violations of policy or law to supervisor.
  • Secure all casino assets, equipment, and cash.
  • Willingness to cross‑train and provide support in related areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Excellent customer service and communication skills; team player with a positive attitude; highly organized; able to handle multiple tasks; works well with diverse personalities; follows supervisory guidance; adept at quick adjustments and flexibility; strong math and currency skills; remains calm under pressure.

Education / Experience

Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. No prior experience necessary. Desired: CPR, law enforcement, or military background. Computer experience required; report writing experience preferred.

Certification That May Be Required

Complete CPR and AED training during the first year of employment and maintain certification throughout. Other certifications may be required at the discretion of GTRC based on business needs.

Equipment to Be Used

Defibrillators, emergency jump kits, two‑way radios, flashlights, copiers, computers, multi‑line phones, standard office equipment, and security vehicle.
