We are looking for an experienced and self‑motivated Pipefitter to provide pipe fitting and plumbing service for the Ludington plant.

• Maintain, repair, and install piping (domestic water, process, steam, condensate, and waste) for the Ludington site.
• Execute relief valve, rupture disk, plumbing fixture, backflow preventer, and plastic‑lined pipe installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Read prints and specifications to perform the job.
• Work within the site permitting system consistent with Section 106 of the Michigan State Plumbing Code.
• Maintain documentation of PSV’s and PRD’s to ensure compliance with Oxy Chem’s mechanical integrity programs.
• Utilize the maintenance work process to complete work and provide daily job progress to scheduler.
• Learn, follow, and occasionally create and update applicable procedures to ensure that all jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and environmentally responsible.
• Assist with training of new employees and complete all training requirements.
• Perform other non‑pipefitter maintenance work you are trained for and can execute safely.
• Support and participate in programs to continuously improve plant operations through problem‑solving teams.
• Support plant and corporate HESS safety programs, objectives, and expectations.

• Journeyman Plumbing License (Master preferred).
• Five (5) years maintenance experience in a chemical or manufacturing plant (preferred).
• Forklift, Manlift (JLG), Overhead Crane, Respiratory Protection Category II licenses.
• Must acquire Backflow Preventer Testing Certification, PSV Training and Certification within first year on the job.
• Physical ability to climb stairs, lift 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and wear required PPE.

• PSV Training and Certification within 1 year

• Climb multiple flights of stairs, ladders, and step and extension ladders to access process equipment.
• Work in all types of weather – heat, humidity, sub‑zero cold, etc.
• Ability lift 50 lbs and work with chemicals such as hydrochloric acid, calcium chloride, etc.
• Perform repetitive pushing, pulling, and lifting motions.
• Perform typical maintenance such as equipment rebuilds, and repairs.
• Use cutting torch with required PPE.
