C&L Ward, Michigan's leading home improvement company, is searching for a hard-working individual for our Deck Install Team. Residential decks in Michigan are aging and are now at an all-time high in age, this is creating tremendous demand for deck replacement services.

A typical day will consist of traveling from our Davison office to the client's home. Perform deck installations to company standards. We value all of our employees and offer medical/dental/vision benefits, paid time off, holiday pay, 401k plus company match, and more.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Thorough knowledge of construction methods and principles.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Proven ability to use measuring tapes, metal breaks, squares, levels and other carpentry tools to plan, lay-out, measure, cut, and install products and/or parts to specifications.
• Proven ability to use and operate hand and power tools such as power saws, miter saws, table saws, power nailers and fasteners, screw guns, sawzall, and other construction tools.
• Proven ability to calculate basic math to accurately layout measurements and install products and/or parts with precise fit and acceptable appearance.
• Ability to do heavy physical work such as lifting, carrying, climbing, pulling, and pushing.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a courteous, respectful manner.
• Ability to complete task or assignment despite encountering obstacles.
• Ability to make suggestions on how to improve company operating procedures.
• Works with the Crew Leader to perform deck installations at the clients home using the C&L Ward Decking installation standards. Installations typically include: jobsite layout; working off ladders and scaffolding; working with small tools and power tools to replace existing products; adjusting existing products or parts so they function properly; cleaning up mess and disposing of old materials and debris; obtaining customer satisfaction signature after work is performed;
  
  and other miscellaneous installation functions.
• Accurately loads vehicle each day using a double check method to reduce loading errors. Secure materials carefully in the vehicle to avoid damage.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 - 55 per week

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Construction: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License or Chauffeur's License (Required)
