The Electrician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital electrical systems, including power distribution, fire alarms, nurse call systems, and lighting. It also involves assisting other facility workers with electrical installations or repairs. Independent judgment is required for handling the details of each task or job.

• Demonstrates understanding of emergency procedures, fire drills, and disaster protocols, with the ability to reset and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
• Ensures a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment.
• Focuses on customer service and professional safety, proactively addressing environmental safety hazards and maintaining a high standard of care with no complaints from patients or staff.
• Available for on-call duty, works additional hours or shift changes as needed, and voluntarily adjusts schedule to accommodate work assignments and emergencies.
• Maintains and repairs electrical distribution systems, fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, and various hospital equipment, including emergency generators and storage battery systems.
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and installs new equipment, ensuring compliance with accreditation and code standards.
• Assists with data line installations, office/room moves, and scheduling planned maintenance for the electrical distribution system with outside resources.
• Investigates work requests, addresses safety issues promptly, provides operational suggestions, assists with staff training on equipment, and maintains knowledge of medical center systems, including troubleshooting electrical car charging stations.

• Education - High School Diploma / GED
• Experience - Three years’ experience as an electrician (Journeyman). Experience includes knowledge and the ability to work with 480/277/208/120/ single and three phase wiring systems.
