Youth Support Specialist – On Call (Evenings/Weekends)
Provides guidance and support to youth in a community-based AOBH setting. This role helps youth develop positive habits, build independent living skills, and thrive in a safe, therapeutic environment. On-call positions provide flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and staff coverage as needed.

Base pay range$19.00/hr – $19.00/hr
This range is provided by New Directions Youth and Family Services. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Compensation- $19.00 per hour
- Awaken and prepare youth for daily activities
- Provide instruction in health, hygiene, and personal habits
- Plan and lead recreational and group activities
- Supervise youth and provide direction/discipline consistent with agency policy and NYSOCFS regulations
- Perform housekeeping tasks in living areas and supervise youth in unit upkeep
- Escort youth to activities and appointments
- Support academic achievement by supervising homework and encouraging success
- Deliver or assist in independent living skills training
- Provide crisis intervention and life space counseling
- Assist in carrying out medical directives from Health Services
- Facilitate daily unit groups
- Maintain logs, documentation, and case notes as required
- Maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and First Aid/CPR certification provided by the agency
- Attend all required in‑service trainings, team meetings, and supervision
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma/GED (required);
Bachelor’s degree preferred - One to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and ability to meet agency driving policy (required)
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug test. This is a Category 3 role, which also requires an annual physical.
