Job Overview
The Assistant Coach provides day to day support to the head coach during the sports season. The assistant coach will primarily assist with practices, games and skill development with the student athletes. Assistant coaches are paid $5,000 in equal bi‑weekly payments throughout the season.
Responsibilities- Assist with practices by planning, evaluating, and conducting practices when requested.
- Teach student athletes progressions, drills, and specific skills.
- Assist with game day operations by advising on in‑game strategies and adjustments, tracking statistics, and conducting warmups.
- Support skill development with workout goals and position specific skill plans for players.
- Contribute to editing and maintaining game videos, as needed.
- Assist with recruitment efforts by communicating with high school coaches, attending events, and assisting with campus visits, as needed.
- Act as a mentor and positive role model for student athletes.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience coaching or playing at a collegiate level.
- Current Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of sport.
- Associate’s Degree in related field.
- Experience coaching at a collegiate level.
- Active CDL license with acceptable driving record.
- CPR / AED Certification.
- Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations.
- USATF Level 2 Certification or a USTFCCCA Throwing event specialist certification.
- 3 years coaching the Shot Put, Discus, and Javelin or collegiate experience as a thrower.
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Balancing:
Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. - Standing:
Particularly for sustained periods of time. - Walking:
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. - Fingering:
Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling. - Talking:
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. - Hearing:
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. - Medium work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. - Visual acuity:
The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment. - Conditions:
The employee is subject to outside environmental conditions. No effective protection from the weather.
