Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club is located thirty miles north of Detroit and is recognized among the best public golf courses in the nation featuring 27 holes, driving range, clubhouse with dining room and banquet venue, the Station. The addition of the Station now brings year-round offerings to Shepherd's Hollow with weddings and corporate events across all seasons.

Shepherd's Hollow is seeking to fill an Assistant Golf Professional position. We offer a fast-paced, fun and dynamic work environment. The Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Director of Golf in the management of day-to-day golf operations of the facility. The position is responsible for supervising and managing total golf operations in the absence of the Director of Golf. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all customers.

The position will be involved in all the following categories:
Tournaments, Junior PGA, Player Development Programs, Outside Golf Operation Services, Group events/outings, Starters/Rangers, Merchandising and Golf Instruction.

• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Hardworking team player
• Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification
• Actively pursuing PGA membership (if a PGA Associate) in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf Management Program or PGM curriculum
• Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
• Fundamental supervisory practices and principles
• Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
• Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
• Self-motivated with desire to promote and market our facility
• Service and client-driven attitude
• Experienced computer user with tournament software including Golf Genius as well as Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet
• Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community

• Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection; control and manage play
• Assist with all opening and closing procedures
• Assist with training new and returning pro shop and outside operations staff
• Conduct individual lessons and group clinics
• Assist in Player Development programs
• Assist with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved
• Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including ordering procedures, receiving procedures, inputting into point of sale, pricing procedures, display, and sales
• Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments
• Assist in planning and budgeting for the golf operations
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times while providing a high level of guest services
• Assist in coordinating and executing golf outings and club twilight events
• Assist the management team and any other facilities with needs as they arise
