OverviewAn Alpine Race Coach at Boyne Resorts organizes and leads on-snow training for youth racers (ages 10-21) in the Team Boyne program, using USSS/PSIA methods to develop skills in slalom and GS, managing training venues, setting gates, ensuring safety, coaching at local races, and communicating with athletes and parents, all while promoting a positive, growth-focused environment.

- On-Snow Coaching
:
Deliver high-quality training sessions, implement technical progressions, and manage athlete groups safely on varied terrain. - Program Execution
:
Execute daily coaching plans, set up training venues (gates, drills), and help organize local races and events. - Athlete Development
:
Build trust, foster a positive environment, encourage skill exploration, and help athletes reach their USSS-level potential. - Safety & Compliance
:
Adhere to all resort safety policies, manage on-mountain risks, and ensure proper equipment care. - Team & Communication
:
Collaborate with the Alpine Director and other staff, communicate effectively with parents, and assist with program logistics (camps, banquets). - Role Modeling
:
Act as a positive role model for safety, guest service, and a growth mindset.
- Strong skiing ability and knowledge of alpine techniques/tactics.
- Experience with PSIA/USSS standards (Level 1 certification preferred).
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in winter conditions and physically manage demands (carrying gates, standing).
- Reliability, dependability, and availability during peak periods (holidays).
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to ski for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to teach ski lessons in harsh winter weather (cold, snow, wind, rain, sleet, ice).
