As a Ticket Office Assistant, you are often the first person our guests will encounter, which means it is important to make that great first impression. Offering friendly, knowledgeable information on Shepler’s operations as well as Mackinac Island and other area attractions is a must.

Ticket Office Assistants work in a busy, fun environment where each guest’s interaction is crucial for their trip to Mackinac Island. Primary duties include using a point of sales system to help our guests with the purchase of ferry boat tickets, bike tickets and overnight parking. The checking in of large tour groups, conventions and other ticketing packages is also a crucial role in this position.

Assisting outside the ticket office in the pre-boarding process of all our guests will also be expected. To perform these job duties, it will help to have some knowledge of computers, tablets and cellphones as well as being a highly organized, self-motivated individual.

This position often works outdoors in all types of weather.

Full Time, Seasonal (May 1 – October 31) or Full Time, Peak Season ( Early June – Late August ).

Ideal candidates must be comfortable working with computers and scanners, as well as the public and will possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
