Outbound Logistics Coordinator

The Outbound Logistics Coordinator ensures the smooth flow of outbound goods between the stages of order intake and dispatch from shipping, including coordinating shipments, assisting with tracking inventory levels, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery by collaborating with carriers and internal teams. The Outbound Logistics Coordinator also helps create and maintain tools for compliance with shipping and import/export regulations.

• Works on-site in Hastings, Michigan (not a remote position).
• In support of our key objective of on-time delivery, works with other team members to coordinate transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
• Provides timely responses to customer inquiries regarding order fulfillment questions.
• Reviews purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
• Resolves shipping errors and miscellaneous shipment cost issues.
• In professional and collaborative manner, develops and documents processes that make the internal flow of order fulfillment more efficient and organized, and trains others to understand and implement processes.
• Works with department supervisors and plant manager to ensure work tasks are optimally balanced amount shipping personnel to accomplish order fulfillment.
• Maintains files and other documentation necessary for compliance with shipping and import/export regulations.
• Uses company ERP system and related external websites (e.g., UPS, Fed Ex, and other carriers) to track and process shipments.
• Complies with all applicable ISO standards, workplace safety requirements, company policies, and governmental laws and regulations.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Work for periods of time in non-temperature-controlled manufacturing setting which can be noisy, and requires wearing appropriate PPE
• Alternate walking, sitting, and standing
• Lifting up to 20 pounds regularly

• High school diploma or higher; post-secondary study in business operations/supply chain preferred
• Professional work experience, including work with high volumes of data very helpful
• At least one (1) year’s experience in logistics or import/export operations is highly preferred
• Familiarity with shipping processes in manufacturing and other industrial settings
• Ability to carry out detailed procedures in a time-constrained environment
• Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset
• Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Quick and continuous learner with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
