THE ROLE
The Asset Management Department is responsible for the optimization of processes and installations, and the timely and reliable monitoring and reporting to internal and external stakeholders regarding the assets within EP NL. The position of Asset Project Engineer is based at the headquarters in Middelburg and formally reports to the Asset Process Performance Manager. Operationally, you work daily with Business Development, providing the technical foundation for new development and investment initiatives.

Your focus centers on the Feasibility and Basic Engineering phases across a diverse portfolio including flexible power generation (CCGT), storage assets (BESS), renewables, electrical infrastructure (HV/MV), alternative fuels and electrification concepts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical support to Business Development: daily technical support, preparing technical scopes, validating assumptions, providing input for decision‑making.

Feasibility studies: conduct feasibility studies, develop alternatives, perform risk analyses, define technical conditions.

Basic engineering & concept development: prepare basic engineering documentation, define integration requirements, interface specifications, and review engineering studies.

Energy assets & infrastructure development: evaluate technical feasibility, design options, integration aspects and safety considerations of new and existing energy concepts across generation, infrastructure, storage and thermal/energy conversion systems.

Management of external engineering: provide technical direction for OEMs/EPCs, review deliverables, verification & validation.

Technical due diligence: assess technical condition, integration aspects, analyze lifecycle costs and risks.

Planning, CAPEX & decision information: prepare CAPEX estimates, plan technical work packages, gather technical input for investment proposals.

Reporting & advisory: prepare technical reports, memos and advisory documents, present to Business Development, Asset Management and Management Team.

Professional & collaborative performance: collaborate with BD, AM, Operations, Maintenance and external partners, share knowledge and maintain transparency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Process Technology or a related field.

Project management training (IPMA/Prince2) is preferred.

At least 5 years of experience in the process industry or in an energy or utilities environment, with a preferred background in electrical engineering.

Knowledge and experience in energy generation (general) and a basic understanding of CCGT processes, wind, solar and hybrid systems.

Basic knowledge of electricity generation processes, including gas turbines, steam turbines and steam boilers.

Demonstrable work experience in the specified responsibilities and tasks.

WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER
