Sr. Field Service Technician

Power your future with Qualus in our Specialized Field Services department as a Senior Field Service Technician. As a Senior Field Service Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in the testing, maintaining, and repairing a wide array of electrical equipment, including low and medium-voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switch gear, motor controls, and more. In this dynamic position, you'll provide hands-on technical expertise and assist in leadership responsibilities, ensuring seamless operations both in the shop and out in the field.

• Provide technical capabilities for testing relays, circuit breakers, transformers, motor control equipment, and related switch gear in the field, including synch check, point-to-point
• Perform and lead a crew in the field for testing/maintenance/repair of breakers, transformers, switch gear, motor control and associated equipment
• Ensure proper preparation and documentation for site projects
• Help evaluate department talent base, identify training needs, and recommend effective action plans for meeting performance expectations
• Identify and secure equipment needs for shop/field
• Provide daily site summaries for site work in coordination with assigned project manager
• Provide weekly production status reports to project management, operations managers, and Service Assistant
• Maintain an understanding of the technical side of company core business needs
• Attend and contribute to project kickoff meetings
• Support budget adherence on projects
• Continuously instructs and trains others
• Support the sales effort by assisting with labor estimates and job walks when necessary
• Remain current on all safety and technical training

• 3-5 years’ related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution and related protection and control schemes
• Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems experience
• Licensures and

  NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred
• Education:
  
  High School Diploma
• Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
• Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
