Chemical Operations Supervisor – Tilley Distribution

Base pay range $65,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Job Summary The Chemical Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of chemical production processes, ensuring that safety, quality, and production standards are met. This role involves supervising a team of operators, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The Chemical Operations Supervisor plays a key role in optimizing production efficiency, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions / General Accountabilities

  • Supervises the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials.
  • Plans, develops, or implements warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of correspondence, reports, and operations, maintenance, and safety manuals.
  • Issues shipping instructions and provides routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated.
  • Confers with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control or purchasing.
  • Responds to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.
  • Develops and documents standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
  • Develop or implement plans for facility modification or expansion, such as equipment purchase or changes in space allocation or structural design.
  • Tracks and traces goods while they are on the route to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary.
  • Interviews, selects, and trains warehouse and supervisory personnel.
  • The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or management.
  • Forklift Certified (preferred).

Skills

  • Understanding of chemical processes.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.

Work Environment

  • Indoors/typical desk office environment.
  • Outdoors.
  • Warehouse.

Physical Demands

  • Walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods; lifting heavy objects; climbing; crouching; operating tools; wearing safety gear.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
