Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Overview
Maintain inventory and material flow for stockrooms, receiving docks, and tool cribs. Responsible for input, maintenance, and accuracy of system-based inventory records, receiving records, and kit pick/issue functions. Perform kitting schedules, backorder reports, and coordinate delivery of critical line‑stopper materials.
Responsibilities- Input and verify all transaction activities in ERP and inventory control systems.
- Execute receipt, control, kit pick, and issue functions for stockrooms and receiving docks.
- Run and expedite backorder reports and support manufacturing with material availability.
- Prepare and maintain kitting schedules and release kits according to predetermined schedules.
- Conduct periodic self‑audits and inventory reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with inventory discrepancies, stock sweeps, and MRB material resolution.
- Unload, inspect, and document incoming materials from freight cars and trucks.
- Carry out material handling using forklifts, tow motors, hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment.
- Record jobs, maintain serial number tracking, and assist with shop inventories.
- Support tool crib operations, including checking out, returning, and ordering tools.
- Maintain a neat, safe, and compliant work area (ESD, hazardous material, clean room).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency in ERP systems related to inventory transactions.
- Forklift certification and experience (standing forklift preferred).
- Good communication skills and strong product knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications and blueprints.
- Strong problem‑solving and status‑reporting capabilities.
- Adherence to EHS and quality training requirements.
Continuous manual handling and lifting of materials up to 70 lbs. Ability to walk, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods. Perform repetitive motions such as stocking and kitting.
