English Teacher ~ Long Term Substitute

This position is available from approximately February 2 through April, 2026 (or longer). It is a full‑time substitute teaching role at Middleborough High School, eligible for the DESE Certified Substitute Rate of Pay: $140 per day, or $294.42 per day after 30 days.

We seek an educator experienced in planning, implementing, and adapting curriculum based on the Massachusetts ELA Curriculum Frameworks and creating and executing curriculum units using the Understanding by Design template. The successful candidate will set high expectations for students and employ differentiation to support all learners, be familiar with MCAS and next‑generation MCAS, and demonstrate a collegial spirit that supports continual professional growth within the Middleborough High School community.

• Collaborate with faculty members, including the building principal, department leaders, special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, and other support personnel.
• Assess students regularly and refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
• Deliver instruction to a variety of students enrolled in ELA courses, grades 9‑12.
• Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans, classroom activities, and assessments aligned with Massachusetts ELA Curriculum Frameworks.
• Provide timely and effective feedback to students.
• Employ effective 1:1 classroom technology strategies.
• Communicate regularly with students and involve families as partners in learning.
• Possess strong classroom management skills.
• Possess knowledge of MCAS and next‑generation MCAS.
• Maintain consistent communication and interpersonal skills with both students and staff.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, positive attitude, and sincere interest in supporting the achievement of all Middleborough High School students.
