Overview
Be among the first 25 applicants. Provide a highly structured approach that relies on behavioral principles, which may include the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Create and implement treatment and behavior plans, including social, cognitive, adaptive, and communication goals under the supervision of the BCBA
- Assist students in generalizing learned skills within the general education settings
- Implement play plans and facilitate social interactions at unstructured times (recess, lunch, specials, etc.)
- Collect data and graph as assigned
- Support school staff, classroom teachers and paraprofessionals
- Collaborate and consult with special educator, general educator, paraprofessionals, coordinators, therapists and colleagues in the behavior department
- Gather/create/organize materials for educational programs, behavior charts, reinforcement systems, etc.
- Model evidence based behavioral techniques for school staff
- Support students who may exhibit behaviors such as: aggression, property destruction, self-injury, non-compliance, disruption, inattention to task, social deficits, non-verbal communication skills and safety concerns
- Maintain current crisis prevention certification (e.g., Safety-Care or CPI) and implement physical restraints and escorts as needed
- Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the Director of Special Education directives of the Superintendent of Schools or designee, and policies of the Middleborough School Committee
- Applied Behavior Analysis (under the supervision of the BCBA) including but not limited to discrete trial training, cold probe data collection, ABC data collection
- Experience supervising communication systems such as PECS and augmentative/alternative communication devices (AACs)
- Experience with developmental assessments such as VBMAPP or ABLLS
- Experience with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, social emotional and behavioral concerns, and/or other health issues and diagnoses
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff
- Strong communication and organizational skills
