Description
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking a mission-driven and dedicated individual to fill the role of Administrative Review Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible to oversee, support, and engage in components of the process of Investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, and mistreatment of DDS service recipients.
The DDS Area and Regional Offices manage several processes which are associated with investigations of abuse, mistreatment, and neglect of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
There are more than 5,000 cases which are reported and processed for DDS service recipients each year.
Upwards of 1,400 complaints go through the formal investigation process by the DDS Investigations Unit. The 4 DDS Regional and 23 Area Offices, are responsible for creating action plans in response to the investigatory findings, and work with the area office Complaint Resolution Teams (CRT) to approve the action plans, disseminate to responsible parties, monitor for completion.
Upwards of 1,400 complaints are assigned to field staff for administrative review or for “direct to CRT”.Additionally, cases assigned a disposition of “dismissal” by the Investigations Unit are also reviewed to determine if additional action is needed. The regional Administrative Review Manager will be responsible for overseeing the work being done. Ensuring that the process is completed within the prescribed deadlines and that information is documented in Home and Community Service Information System (HCSIS.
and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive)
Perform administrative reviews and produce action plans for investigations.
Attend Area Offices CRT meeting and monitor the process work being performed by DDS field staff for completion, timelines, and quality.
Facilitate regular meetings with Program Monitors and others involved in CRT processes, provide guidance, best practices, problem solving.
Assess trends and patterns which emerge from monitoring activities and report findings to Regional Director.
Monitor Incident Management system in Home and Community Service Information System (HCSIS).
Monitor incoming CPPD’s in the Home and Community Service Information System (HCSIS).
Act as liaison between Area Office and DDS Investigations Unit, DPPC investigations unit, Complete the request for reconsideration of administrative review with DDS Senior Investigator.
Serve as a resource for and provide training to DDS area offices and staff.
Serve on the Regional Mortality Review Committee.
Review and complete CPPD Reconsideration requests.
Additional duties at the request of supervisor or Regional Director.
Preferred Qualifications- Five or more years’ experience in Human Services.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Services, or related field.
- Highly effective organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Proficient with data management and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of DDS management hierarchy and functionality
- Ability to be tactful and diplomatic with other DDS employees, Provider Agency Staff, family members of DDS clients and any other individuals with whom they must communicate during business
- Capacity to navigate through the HCSIS web base, including the ability to run reports.
- Ability to apply conflict resolution skills.
- Full-time – 37.5-hour weekly position
Monday through Friday
- Day Shift
