Our Construction Equipment group is seeking a full‑time Asphalt Paving Equipment Mechanic for our Middleboro, MA branch. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy‑duty machinery used in asphalt paving operations, including pavers, rollers, milling machines, and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime on construction sites through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and making necessary repairs to mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

• Complete inspections
• Remove and install parts
• Implement optional accessories
• Perform maintenance
• Basic diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Testing
• General repairs
• Incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Consistent, reliable attendance and readiness at the designated start time

We encourage your participation in our in‑house training program, allowing you to acquire additional skills in diagnosis and troubleshooting and advance your career. Company uniforms are provided.

• Four years of previous heavy equipment or over‑the‑road (OTR) repair experience (required)
• Two years of experience with asphalt paving equipment (preferred)
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of engines, power trains, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Possess own tools
• Positive attitude and high energy
• Computer program:
  Microsoft Outlook
• Language skills – Intermediate: read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals; write reports; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Mathematical skills – Basic: add/subtract two‑digit numbers, multiply/divide with 10’s and 100’s, perform operations using units of US money and weight, volume, distance
• Reasoning ability – Intermediate: apply common sense to carry out instructions; deal with problems involving multiple variables

• Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach; frequently talk/hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally sit
• Lift up to 25 lbs regularly; 26–50 lbs frequently; 51–100+ lbs occasionally
• Work near moving mechanical parts; expose to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions; risk of electrical shock, vibration
