PositionREGISTERED NURSE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
Southwest General’s award-winning main Emergency Department has 52 beds, serving our communities’ needs for emergency care 24 hours a day. The ED is verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma as a Level III trauma center. No call, no rotating shifts.
HoursHalf-time, benefit-eligible night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM with rotating weekends (every 3rd). 48 hours biweekly.
Position SummaryA professional caregiver who plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. Acts as a liaison between physicians, patient and family, and collaborates with other health care team members. Assists in the orientation of new personnel and may participate in health center and department committees. The staff nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age groups served according to chronological age, developmental age, and/or psychosocial maturity.
Minimum Qualifications- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
- Required length of experience: Previous experience in the specific nursing area strongly preferred.
- Required licensure, certification, and/or registry: Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing. CPR, BLS, PALS, ACLS required. TNCC preferred.
