—The Department of Religion at Middlebury College announces a two-year position in Religion in the United States
, to begin in Fall 2026. Candidates should have training in religious studies as well as expertise in some area of the social scientific study of religion. The candidate will teach a range of classes, from introductory to upper-level, drawing on their area of specialization and research methodology.
Among the courses expected from the candidate will be an introductory course on religion in America and a course on the intersections of religion and politics in the contemporary United States.
Our department is deeply committed to undergraduate teaching, and the ideal candidate will share that investment. As part of a full teaching load, the candidate will contribute to Middlebury's Winter Term course offerings.

This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $92,577-$96,355 per year.
