Construction Manager – EHV Cable Installation
Location:
Teesside (site-based from June/July 2026)
Contract Type:
Contract (Day Rate)
Rate: £400–£500 per day (dependent on experience)
Duration:
June/July 2026 – August 2027 (with pre-mobilisation remote working)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a major EHV underground cabling project in Teesside. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing site operations, subcontractors, and direct labour to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day site operations for EHV cable installation works
* Manage cable pulling subcontractors and jointing teams
* Supervise site teams and direct labour, ensuring productivity and compliance
* Report progress, issues, and performance to senior project leadership
* Ensure all works are delivered in line with programme, safety, and quality standards
* Produce and manage essential project documentation, including:
* Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
* Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
* Construction plans and related documentation
* Maintain strict adherence to HSE regulations and best practices
Required Experience & Skills
* Proven experience as a Construction Manager within high-voltage infrastructure projects
* Strong background in EHV underground cabling (400kV and 275kV)
* Demonstrated experience managing:
* Cable pulling subcontractors
* Cable jointing teams
* Solid understanding of construction documentation and processes (ITPs, RAMS, etc.)
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Ability to manage site teams effectively and drive performance
Working Arrangements
* Pre-mobilisation:
Remote working available
* From June/July 2026:
Full-time site-based role in Teesside
* Working Hours:
Monday to Friday
