The Opportunity Driver Project Services is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to strengthen our existing team and provide commercial support on a long-term energy project based on Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in subcontract management and commercial administration, ideally gained within the energy, petrochemical, oil & gas or wider industrial sectors.

Working closely with the project team, site personnel, subcontractors and the client's commercial team, you will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring effective cost control, contractual compliance and successful commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Review, assess and process subcontractor applications for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements. Undertake remeasurement of mechanical and electrical (M&E) subcontract works to support accurate subcontract valuations. Prepare quantities, schedules and supporting documentation for the procurement of subcontract packages. Prepare, issue and administer subcontract documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual and commercial procedures. Prepare and submit interim applications for payment and project valuations.

Produce and maintain accurate monthly commercial and financial reports, monitoring project costs and commercial performance. Attend project, progress and commercial meetings as required. Liaise with site personnel to obtain progress records, verify completed works and reconcile site records against subcontractor applications. Identify, assess and value variations and change events in accordance with the relevant contract conditions. Negotiate variations and commercial changes with the client's commercial team to achieve agreement and protect project value.

Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure all contractual and project documentation is managed in accordance with company procedures. About You – Key Candidate Criteria We are looking for a commercially aware and proactive professional who can demonstrate: A minimum of five years' experience in a similar Senior Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management role. A degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc) or another construction-related discipline, or an equivalent industry-recognised qualification.

Previous experience working on petrochemical, oil & gas, energy or other major industrial projects. Experience in subcontract commercial management, including procurement, valuations, remeasurement, variations and final account negotiations. A good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures. Strong financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to identify risks, manage costs and maximise project value. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.

Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
