What you will do:

  • Support LA EHE and CEEL Officers in fulfilling statutory functions on behalf of the LA
  • Assist in issuing Penalty Notices for unauthorised absences and liaise with schools where needed
  • Collate referrals from schools regarding penalty notice warning letters, preparing and distributing correspondence
  • Prepare case files leading up to prosecutions for non-school attendance
  • Handle public enquiries about school attendance both in person and over the phone
  • Work with schools, attendance staff, and head teachers, advising on attendance procedures
  • Liaise with other professionals to ensure good school participation for all children, working closely with Early Help, Children’s Social Care, and the Youth Offending Service
  • Assist in the delivery of training to schools, parents, and Council officers
