Closing date:14 Aug Further Information We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapy Team Lead to join Adults Social Care in Middlesbrough.
This is an excellent opportunity to provide professional leadership, operational oversight, and expert occupational therapy practice within our Integrated Occupational Therapy service.
The successful candidate will lead and support a team of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Officers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, strength-based assessments and interventions across Adult Social Care.
Working closely with Social Work colleagues, health partners, and other multi-disciplinary professionals, you will promote person-centred practice that maximises independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for local residents.
We are seeking an individual with excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills who can motivate and develop staff, manage competing priorities, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
The role requires the ability to work collaboratively across teams while also exercising professional autonomy, sound judgement, and initiative.
As Team Lead, you will provide professional supervision, support workforce development, oversee complex casework, and ensure occupational therapy practice remains compliant with relevant legislation, policy, and professional standards.
You will play a key role in in driving innovation, embedding strengths-based approaches, and supporting the development of occupational therapy services within Adult Social Care.
The role involves working with adults who present with a wide range of physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and environmental needs, requiring close partnership working with health, housing and community services. Continuing Professional Development is actively encouraged, and regular management and professional supervision is provided.
The successful candidate will also have opportunities to contribute to service transformation, workforce development, and wider organisational priorities.
To be successful in this role applicants must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and maintain current HCPC registration. Previous experience of leading or supervising staff within a health, or social care setting is essential.
