Weekend Veterinary Surgeon – Middlesbrough
Salary:
Up to £45 per hour DOE + Excellent Benefits

An exciting opportunity is available for a Weekend Veterinary Surgeon to join an established out-of-hours emergency veterinary clinic in Middlesbrough
, providing essential emergency and critical care for dogs, cats and small animals.
Based within a private host practice, the clinic supports around 16 local veterinary practices
, managing a varied emergency caseload in a fast-paced but well-supported environment.
The role is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to supplement their existing work
, achieve a better work-life balance or develop their ECC and emergency veterinary skills
.
The structured 1-in-4 rota provides plenty of time away from work:
- Week 1: Saturday 15:00–21:00 + Sunday 11:00–21:00
- Week 2: No shifts
- Week 3: Sunday 11:00–21:00
- Week 4: No shifts
This is a clinical-only role, allowing the Veterinary Surgeon to focus on delivering high-quality emergency patient care, with wider administrative and client-service support available.

The ideal candidate will be a confident, compassionate Veterinary Surgeon with good clinical judgement and an interest in emergency and critical care. They will be comfortable managing a varied emergency caseload and working collaboratively within a supportive team.
