Artisan Baker, Strikes Garden Centre

We are looking for a Part Time Permanent Baker to join the team in our Restaurant in Strikes Garden Centre. Our competitive rates of pay start at £12.70 per hour dependent on experience. The hours for this role are 28 per week over 4 days. Weekend work is required in this role so flexibility is a must.

As a Artisan Baker you will work as part of the kitchen team to produce a range of freshly baked goods each day. You’ll be enthusiastic and passionate about quality and freshness and produce that special something for our customers to have at the end of their meal.

• Responsible for the daily production of freshly baked scones, cakes and desserts.
• Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure consistent quality and quantity of baked goods.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes.
• Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters.
• Decorate and present baked goods in an appealing manner.
• Work closely with the Chef/Restaurant Manager to plan production.
• Monitor stock levels and contribute towards the ordering process.
• Work efficiently to ensure low levels of waste.
• Carry out cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards.
• Close down bakery area each day including preparation for the following day.

• Accomplished and experienced Artisan baker.
• Knowledge of food production techniques and baking principles.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils used in baking.
• Passion for good quality fresh baked goods.
• Understanding of food hygiene requirements.
• Great presentation skills.
