Middlesex University is seeking an exceptional leader to become the Director of MDX Studios:
The Creative School, launching September 2026.

The post-holder will play a leading role in the development and delivery of MDX Studios:
The Creative School and will also be responsible for strategic direction and planning of the School. As Director, you will lead MDX Studios:
The Creative School through an exciting transformation, ensuring its success across design, film, and art disciplines within the broader context of practice and creative technologies.

Based in bespoke creative industries Grove Building, you will have strategic responsibility for student experience, academic quality, workforce planning, commercial operations, and financial sustainability. The Director will maintain and develop our strong relationships with external stakeholders, including professional bodies and employers.

Reporting to the PVC Global Research & Knowledge Exchange, you will play a pivotal role in launching the new School and achieving the outcomes set out in the Faculty Business Plan aligned with the University’s strategy.

The successful candidate will be an experienced academic with a track‑record of managing people and resources in a relevant disciplinary area. They will be a commercially minded and strategic leader with a track record of positive organisational change.

Committed to preparing students for graduate careers, they will also be skilled at fostering an inclusive and enabling research and knowledge exchange environment, and excellent at establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with partners.
