Our district utilizes aides in all levels, from preschool to high school. For more detailed information, please see the attached job description.

Duties:

• Duties vary depending upon your placement
  • We have 1:1 aides who work with students who have significant needs
  • We also have classroom aides that support learning
  • Aides may also be assigned to students during non-instructional times
  • Aides may be transferred depending upon need

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or more and the ability to meet job requirements
• Additional certification(s) and experience working with students and teaching are preferred
• Some position require specialized training which the district will provide

Position:

• Part time, 27.5 hours per work week
• Or six hours a day with a 1/2 hour lunch
• 184 days a year

Schedule:

• Daily schedules vary
  • Some aides start as early as 6:30 a.m. and leave early
  • Some aides arrive late but work until 4:00 p.m.

Pay:

• Annual salary is $19,000 for highly qualified (HQ) candidates
  • HQ = 60 college credits OR passing the Para Pro Test
• Additional compensation may be provided for specialized positions

Benefits:

• Sick Leave Benefits:
  Yes, up to 10 days per year, which carry over from year-to-year
• Bereavement Leave:
  Yes, up to three days "Paid" for immediate family only
• Other Leave:
  Leave without pay may be requested
