General Machine Company of NJ is a fourth generation, family-owned manufacturing company in Middlesex, New Jersey, specializing in high-quality industrial blenders and dryers.

The Chemical Operator will be responsible for operating chemical processing equipment for blending, drying, and testing product batches in a pilot or production environment.

• Compounding and blending of products from various industries including but not limited to cosmetics, nutraceuticals, plastics, metals, polymers, and colors.
• Operate both laboratory‑pilot scale GEMCO dryers, blenders, and formulators as well as large commercial versions.
• Operate electric and propane fork trucks.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and commercial vehicles as required.
• Ability to read and understand the SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for the materials they are working with.
• Ability to read and understand the batch records, SOP's and formula's they are presented with.
• Ability to clean and maintain their assigned work areas.
• Maintain accurate records.
• "Lock Out & Tag Out" failed, damaged, or improperly functioning equipment and report it to management.

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Proven work experience as a Chemical Operator or a similar role.
• Complete understanding of the chemical processes and safety protocols.
• Good time-management and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be located in New Jersey or within commuting distance.
