Purchasing & Logistics Manager
Salary: £50,000-£55,000
Location:
Dukinfield, Greater Manchester – Full-time onsite
Join a specialist engineering business where your planning, purchasing, and logistics skills will directly impact customer delivery.
The business is a well-established name in maintenance and servicing across the UK. They support major manufacturing clients with parts, filters, and engineering services. They're now looking for a hands-on Purchasing & Logistics Manager to take full ownership of stores, stock, purchasing, and logistics operations.

What you’ll be doing
* Take full control of purchasing – ordering materials, negotiating prices, and managing supplier terms.
* Time deliveries to keep stock levels lean and accurate.
* Oversee warranty returns and manage credits with suppliers.
* Manage stores systems and stock movements – hands-on when needed.
* Run monthly stock takes and control engineers' van stock.
* Plan cost-effective delivery routes for filters and small parts.
* Work closely with the Performance Analyst to reduce costs.
* Oversee filter packaging, order despatch, and shipping accuracy.
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in a purchasing, supply chain, or logistics management role.
* Confident negotiating with suppliers and planning deliveries.
* Strong organisational skills and methodical working style.
* Hands-on mindset – willing to get involved when needed.
* Experience with stock control systems.
* Comfortable managing people and driving continuous improvement.
