Shift Electrical Engineer

Shift Pattern 3 Shift (6-2, 2-10, 10-6) - Monday to Friday

Salary: £45,000 to £52,000 + Pension + Overtime + Benefits

The Role
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults quickly and effectively.
  • Fault find PLC‑controlled machinery.
  • Maintain three‑phase motors, control circuits and variable speed drives.
  • Troubleshoot electrical safety circuits and relay logic.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Complete maintenance documentation using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Support continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Work safely and comply with all Health & Safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimise machine downtime.
Key Skills
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC fault diagnosis, three‑phase motor control, relay logic, AC & DC variable speed drives, electric safety circuits, and sensors (proximity, optical, etc.).
  • Experience working with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron or Telemecanique equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Good IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure.

There is a large amount of development on offer, with the possibility of taking on a supervisory role in the future.
