Overview
To help ensure the Finance Team operates efficiently within the College’s Financial Regulations and Procedures, and meet all relevant audit and information requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive accounting and administrative support to the Finance Team.
- Match purchase orders, process accounts payable invoices, payments and queries, including credit/purchase card transactions.
- Process accounts receivable invoices, receipt allocation and credit control.
- Prepare Bursary payments to students and other ad hoc payments.
- Process student direct debit instalments, update EBS records, reconcile payments from the Student Loan Company and employer sponsors, investigate and correct discrepancies.
- Assist in effective Treasury Management: process college cash allocation and assist with bank reconciliations.
- Assist in payroll payment processing and control account reconciliations.
- Assist in balance sheet control account reconciliations and analysis.
- Accurately record and process general ledger transactions such as accruals, prepayments, deferrals, recharges etc.
- Monitor and record stock movements.
- Produce and develop budget holder reporting ensuring timeliness, relevance and accuracy.
- Maintain and develop financial systems, controls, procedures and audit checks as required.
- Provide advice and guidance to all College staff on financial procedures and budget holder responsibilities and queries.
- Support other College activities such as enrolment, providing finance functions.
- Ensure transaction compliance with the College’s Financial Regulations, and that they are appropriately authorised per procedures and audit requirements.
- Perform other duties within the Finance function as requested.
Essential Criteria
- 5 GCSEs grade 5 or above including Maths and English or equivalent.
- Willingness to work towards an AAT apprenticeship framework.
Essential Criteria
- Intermediate use of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience with accounting software and other databases.
