Job Title: Evening Cleaner (4pm – 7pm)

Contract: Permanent, 15 hrs per week Term Time only plus 4 weeks
Salary: Support staff salary scale points, 1‑3 (£24,413 – £24,796). Actual £9,428 – £9,576
Edgar Wood Academy is seeking a reliable and dedicated Evening Cleaner to help maintain a safe, hygienic, and pleasant learning environment for our students and staff. This is an ideal role for someone looking to work weekday evenings, with regular school holidays off – perfect for fitting around family or other commitments.
As a Cleaner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our school, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will work as part of a supportive team to uphold the high standards of the Academy.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned to a high standard, including classrooms, offices, corridors, and restrooms.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and waste disposal.
- Replenish consumable items (e.g. soap, toilet paper) as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
- Follow established health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
We are looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable, and takes pride in their work. Previous experience in a cleaning role is preferred but not essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly school environment.
