Trainee Team Leader; EV --Wolds

Role Overview

The Trainee Team Leader will supervise and coordinate daily primary processing operations, ensuring:

• Production targets are met
• High food safety and hygiene standards
• Compliance with animal welfare regulations
• A strong health & safety culture

You will lead a team of operatives while working closely with technical, planning, and engineering teams.

• Lead, supervise, and support primary processing operatives
• Allocate tasks and ensure team members understand responsibilities
• Monitor performance and provide coaching or guidance
• Maintain discipline and ensure company policies are followed
• Production Management – Ensure daily production targets are achieved safely and efficiently
• Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or processes to improve productivity
• Coordinate with other departments such as lairage, packing, and quality control

• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
• Conduct safety checks and report hazards or incidents
• Ensure correct use of PPE
• Promote a safe working environment

• Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
• Monitor sanitation of equipment and work areas
• Follow HACCP and company food safety procedures

• Train new employees in operational procedures, safety, and hygiene
• Mentor team members to improve skills and performance
• Support management in staff development and evaluations

• Maintain accurate production records and reports
• Report operational issues, equipment problems, or staffing concerns
• Ensure compliance documentation is completed correctly

• Has team leadership or supervisory experience in production/manufacturing
• Understands food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
• Is organised, proactive, and a strong communicator
• Can manage people effectively in a fast-paced environment
