Today, Magical Beginnings’ schools are an award-winning collection of Early Childhood Education Centers serving communities and families in Massachusetts. We are hiring a Floating Teacher to support in our Middleton school on Maple Street. This role provides support to classrooms throughout the school and plays an integral part in helping our program run smoothly while providing top-notch child care and collaborating with likeminded teachers.
This role requires a creative, positive, and engaging team player who is flexible and eager to jump in to support.
- Providing substitute coverage when Teachers are out sick, completing planning time, in need of a bathroom break, lunch break, or any other coverage throughout the day.
- Assisting Classroom Teachers with the routine opening/closing of the classroom, including cleaning toys and tables, vacuuming, sanitizing after children have left, and preparing the classroom for the next morning.
- Providing classroom assistance to support teachers as needed, including preparing materials for lesson plans, engaging with students in free play, assisting with daily projects, supervising outdoor time, helping with bathroom needs and diapering, snack and lunch time assistance, and naptime support.
- Adhering to the daily classroom schedule while assisting teachers.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the school throughout the day, including cleaning staff areas, lobbies, restrooms, assisting with laundry, and organizing nap mats.
- Encouraging children’s participation by providing age-appropriate interactive activities.
- Maintaining EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry.
- Attending monthly staff meetings and creating a fun and safe learning environment.
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents.
- EEC Teacher Certification (any age group), CDA, or equivalent degree and experience (required)
- Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting
- Engaging and energetic demeanor with a love for helping young children meet and exceed developmental goals
- Availability to work 25-40 hours per week, with flexibility to work until 5:00 pm some days
- Ability to spend extended periods on the floor with children
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 90% of the workday

$16 - $24 an hour
