Overview

Senior Engineer Compression Systems Aerodynamics (Onsite) at Pratt & Whitney – Middletown, CT. Onsite role located at PW102:
Middletown Aircraft Rd P.O. Box 611, Middletown, CT, 06457 USA.

• Create and assess aero designs for advanced gas turbine fans and compressors from concept initiation through detailed design, development, certification, manufacturing and post-certification.
• Perform airfoil and flowpath design, data analyses, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and optimization analyses. Focus is on analytical work and testing directed at the performance of compression system modules.
• Communicate technical progress and status to program groups, senior management, and customers.
• Work with the Aero-Thermal Fluids (ATF) leadership team to define and execute technology plans, establish standard work methodologies and design system enhancements.
• Provide leadership for the aerodynamics team in supporting Module Center and Program Systems.

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering and 5+ years of experience in aerodynamics applications; OR an advanced degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering and 3+ years of experience in aerodynamics applications.
• U.S. Citizenship required, due to government contracts.

• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
• Experience working with and contributing to a cross-functional team.
