We are currently hiring a Mechanical Engineer/PFP in our Middletown, CT office.
Essential Functions- Designs plumbing and fire protection portions of a project using engineering formulas and skills for ensuring safety and technical accuracy.
- Identifies and selects equipment from appropriate manufacturing catalogs for specific applications.
- Ability to perform on‑site investigations and surveys prior to design and during construction.
- Coordinates the contract documents between engineering disciplines for architects.
- Provides technical support to contractors throughout construction.
- Performs his or her own drafting/design using AutoCAD and/or Revit and reviews own work for accuracy.
- Performs hydraulic calculations using computer software.
- Coordinates utility requirements with local utility companies including obtaining hydrant flow test data for project sites.
- B.S. degree preferred in mechanical engineering with 2 to 5 years of job‑related experience.
- Ability to draft using AutoCAD and Revit software.
- Strong oral and written skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively.
