Residential Aide - FT 40 hrs. Tuesday - Saturday 3 pm - 11 pm – Lincoln

Join Continuum of Care as a Residential Aide to assist individuals with daily personal routines, skill‑building activities, and group participation across the community. Work nights and weekends with the care team to provide supportive, client‑centered care.

Shift Details

• 40 hours per week, Tuesday‑Saturday 3 pm–11 pm

• Weekend shift differential: $1.00 more per hour ($20.39)

Responsibilities
  • Establish rapport and maintain professional ethics and boundaries with clients.
  • Enhance clients’ independent living skills through assessment and teaching (modeling, prompting, hands‑on assistance).
  • Support activities of daily living (personal care, hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, food management, budgeting, health and safety, leisure).
  • Facilitate and co‑facilitate psycho‑educational groups and community integration/social recreation activities.
  • Provide transportation to/from appointments and train clients in travel planning and public/private transportation.
  • Conduct regular apartment/room inspections, safety rounds, and hands‑on assistance with cleaning.
  • Administer breathalyzer tests and urinalysis samples when applicable.
  • Document shift logs in electronic records per agency policy.
  • Develop relationships with providers, families, and supports.
  • Respond to crisis situations and intervene following Nonviolent Practices policy.
  • Supervise, monitor, and document client medication self‑administration.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings, clinical rounds, All Treater meetings, and supervision.
Environmental Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, well‑organized work environment.
  • Ensure program egresses and walkways remain clear for safety.
  • Notify supervisor of maintenance or safety issues and generate work orders.
  • Participate in fire and emergency evacuation drills and review emergency preparedness plans.
  • Assist with Food Bank activities as assigned.
  • Keep awake through all shifts to maintain client and facility safety.
Quality Assurance
  • Follow policies and practices outlined in the staff handbook and program operations manual.
  • Work respectfully, constructively, and cooperatively.
  • Uphold HIPAA regulations and secure necessary releases of information.
  • Model culturally competent behavior with clients, providers, family, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and case files in accordance with contract, licensing, and accreditation requirements.
  • Adhere to CARF standards.
  • Participate in agency committees when available.
  • Complete required trainings and attend agency‑sponsored in‑services, outside trainings, and conferences for professional growth.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in a related healthcare field, or license as a CNA or equivalent certification.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and/or addiction.
  • Knowledge of community support systems and resources preferred.
  • Valid Connecticut driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to maintain reliable transportation and transport clients in personal vehicles for non‑24‑hr and scattered positions.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (provided during orientation; employee must maintain certification).
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic record‑keeping.
