OverviewKaman Precision Products is recruiting a Laser Welding/Assembly Tech to join our Operations Department. The role contributes to the company Core Values (REACH) and supports a positive impact through focused work and collaboration.
CompensationBase pay range: $21.00/hr - $24.00/hr
This range is provided by Kaman Precision Products Fuzing. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Responsibilities- Performs general assembly operations under direct supervision, including printed wire board assembly, conformal coating, potting, ultrasonic cleaning, coil winding, evac & backfill, component forming, wire wrapping, laser welding and painting as required by program or process. Assists in conducting in-process testing, such as bench and leak testing.
- Works from blueprints, assembly drawings, routing sheets, mil specs, verbal instructions, written process descriptions and visual work instructions.
- Attains security clearance and maintains certifications as required by programs or processes such as ESD, explosive handling, and general soldering (IPC J-STD-001). Basic knowledge of computers and software (word processing, spreadsheets) as required.
- Documents and records the results of completed testing and the rework of products. Assesses the level of rework and assists in determining the cause of component, subassembly, or system failures. Takes appropriate action to rework components and ensure proper operation of equipment. Recommends modifications to assembly processes to engineering as needed.
- Supports ISO 9000 and Statistical Process Control (SPC) initiatives, guiding, directing, and training employees in various assembly operations as needed. Remains flexible to work in various work cells depending on company need. Reports unusual circumstances or conditions to supervisor as required.
- High School or GED required.
- 6 months to 1 year of assembly experience required.
- Basic knowledge of computers and software (word processing, spreadsheets) as required.
- General soldering experience (IPC J-STD-001) required.
- Must have laser welding experience.
