About the RoleWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology Department at Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center, a VECCS Level I Facility in Middletown, CT. In this role, you will work alongside expert oncologists, supporting advanced treatments and therapies that give pets the best chance at recovery and an improved quality of life. You will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and guidance to both patients and their families, making a real impact every day.

We believe veterinary medicine is truly a team sport and we seek a candidate who shares that mindset. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia, and patient restraint. Experience or knowledge in oncology and chemotherapy is a plus. Familiarity with CPR, Ezy Vet, and Smart Flow is also a plus, but not required. This position involves ongoing client communication;
strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Full‑Time Position: 4 days a week / 10‑hour shifts. Holidays are required.
Compensation- Starting at $25.00–$32.00/hr, dependent on experience and education. Additional compensation for VTS.

- Associate's in veterinary technology is a plus.
- CVT license required for sign-on bonus.
- Strong knowledge with anesthesia and monitoring.
- Phlebotomy.
- Knowledge of scheduling, receiving, treating, ordering supplies, and laboratory ordering.
- Knowledge of use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques.
- Knowledge of instruments and procedures for preparing and providing “tableside” assistance.
- Knowledge of client service principles and processes.
- Knowledge of English language structure and composition.
- Ability to work independently and accept direction on assigned tasks.
