Position: Early Childhood Education (ECE) School Speech Language Pathologist

Early Childhood Education (ECE) School Speech Language Pathologist - Middletown, Delaware

A dedicated and passionate Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to support early childhood learners ages 2‑5 in an early intervention setting. This role focuses on providing comprehensive speech and language services designed to address a variety of communication needs, fostering success in both the classroom environment and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in young children
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide direct speech therapy through individual, small group, or classroom‑based sessions
  • Consult with educators, parents, and support staff to integrate speech and language objectives across curricula
  • Maintain accurate documentation and monitor student progress in alignment with federal, state, and district requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition plans
  • Support early intervention and preschool special education, including inclusive classroom approaches
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices and regulatory standards
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure and/or certification (ASHA CCC‑SLP or CFY eligible; appropriate state certification if required)
  • Experience working with preschool‑aged children in school or early intervention settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of child development, early literacy, play‑based learning, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
  • Working with diverse student populations
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education eligibility procedures
