Provide academic student support by working one-on-one and in small groups with students on specific concepts and skills.

• Tutor individual and small groups of students in fundamental and advanced skills and areas of knowledge.
• Facilitate student study groups.
• Provide assistance to students in comprehending discipline-specific subject matter.
• Respond to student questions requiring an in-depth knowledge of subject matter, course concepts and learning objectives.
• Assist in conducting student support functions.
• Provide assistance with testing in special circumstances where discipline-specific knowledge is required (e.g., students with special needs).
• Support student use of discipline-specific technology and the course learning management system.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or in limited circumstances, an equivalent combination of education and experience that conveys comparable knowledge and abilities.
• Prior tutoring experience desirable.

• Proven ability to work effectively with students of varying ages, cultures, and knowledge levels.
• Proven ability to communicate ideas, principles, and concepts effectively in individual or small group settings.
• Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Office, procedural programming, object-oriented programming, databases (SQL preferred), and data structures.
• Knowledge of information research strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
• Ability to travel to other sites as needed.
• Fluency in Spanish required.

• Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
• Positions available for both day and evening hours.

Compensation: $22.05 per hour.
