OverviewThe College seeks to build a pool of qualified applicants to teach COMM 101 – Intro to Communication. This course provides students with a foundational understanding of communication theory, models and principles. Students will explore the history of communication, cultural, personal and physiological contexts, verbal and nonverbal coding systems, and mediated communication. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of communication theory, effective communication skills, commitment to student success, and the ability to foster an inclusive and interactive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures that introduce students to fundamental communication theories and their practical applications.
- Facilitate discussions to aid in understanding of course concepts and analysis of communication processes.
- Assign and grade writing assignments, projects, and exams to assess student understanding.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback and support to help students succeed academically.
- Cultivate an inclusive classroom environment that values diverse perspectives and promotes respectful dialogue.
Education:
- Master’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
Experience:
- Prior teaching experience, especially at the college level, is a plus.
Strong need for daytime classes, limited evening sessions available.
Morning, afternoon, evening and weekend courses may be available in Lincroft or Higher Education Centers across Monmouth County.
Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
