Roles and Responsibilities:
• Server Maintenance:
o Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat and Ubuntu servers.
o Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.
o Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
o Maintain backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Application Management:
o Manage and maintain the Yii
1.1 application running on Apache web server.
o Perform application updates, bug fixes, and improvements.
o Ensure the application meets security and compliance requirements.
o Optimize application performance and scalability.
• System Administration:
o Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
o Implement and maintain network and server security measures.
o Monitor system logs and respond to alerts and incidents.
o Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
Requirements and Skills:
• Proven experience as a System Administrator and Application Owner.
• Strong understanding of server operating systems, particularly Red Hat and Ubuntu.
• Experience with web servers, specifically Apache.
• Hands-on experience with Yii
1.1 framework. Proficient in PHP programming language, familiarity with MVC architecture and web application development
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
• Understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of server and application security best practices.
• Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security audits.
• Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, Postgre
SQL).
• Ability to perform database backups, restores, and optimizations.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) a plus.
• Application Development experience in: PHP, Yii
1.1 framework, Java script, Perl, Python
