Description
As an Ignition Engineer at EOSYS, you will work with small, multi-disciplinary teams to develop Ignition-based solutions for manufacturing clients. Projects range from standalone SCADA applications to full-scale MES/MOM systems across multiple facilities. EOSYS is a member of the Inductive Automation Integrator Program, and we are rapidly expanding our Ignition customer base.
Ignition projects typically last from a few weeks up to 6 months. You may also be part of onsite project commissioning teams, experiencing manufacturing environments such as robotics, automotive assembly, food packaging, and whiskey production. Opportunities exist to learn new skills and advance within the company based on your interests and capabilities.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical)
- 5+ years’ experience with Ignition (by Inductive Automation)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with Ignition Vision and Perspective environments
Nice to have
- Experience with OPC UA and MQTT
- Experience with Ignition Edge and MES/IIoT modules
- Experience with SQL databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Maria
DB, Mongo
DB) - Basic knowledge of PLC tag structures and communications
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments
- Experience in commissioning and troubleshooting control systems
Work Conditions
- Combination of office and industrial settings
- Extended sitting at desks or consoles
- Ability to wear PPE for certain clients
- Standing, walking, kneeling on concrete or padded surfaces
- Lifting 25 lbs. or more
- Working in mezzanine areas (20-25 ft high, wire mesh floors)
- Climbing ladders or stairs to access mezzanines
- Working in wet/slippery environments
- Extended hours, night shifts, and weekend work as needed
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; no current visa sponsorship
