Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer at Middletown Works. The Electrical Engineer ensures the reliability of electrical controls and automation equipment by supporting EM&C with troubleshooting and improvement projects.

• Contributes toward the development and continuous improvement of equipment. Develops and executes the implementation of long and short term improvement plans.
• Utilizes appropriate failure analysis techniques to determine root causes of failures and initiates necessary corrective action to eliminate or reduce such failures.
• Develops an understanding of existing PLC programs on all equipment. Programs and implements PLC modifications as corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
• Provides engineering expertise in the day-to-day support in troubleshooting and resolving problems (after hours as required) with PLC’s and various supporting instrumentation and motor speed control devices.
• Programs, configures and tunes both PLC’s and motor (AC and DC) drives in relation to manufacturing process control systems.
• Works closely with Project Engineering, ensures drawings are updated in keeping with equipment modifications, and provides counsel for equipment redesign and performance.
• Coordinates requirements, standards, and procedures for the operations of the equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Candidates must have a strong interest in electrical circuitry, manufacturing processes, and software/hardware/machine interface.

• Ideal candidates will have two or more years of related experience in manufacturing.
• Experience of broad electrical engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• PLC design, programming, installation and troubleshooting experience. Rockwell Contrologix or Siemens PLC Series 5/7 is a plus.
