Facility: Atrium Medical Center

The Critical Care Unit is a 25-bed inpatient nursing unit specializing in the care of adult medical/surgical patients and cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgical patients. The unit is equipped to provide post operative care and recovery of cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical patients including open heart, thoracotomy, endarterectomy as well as percutaneous cardiac intervention and acute myocardial infarction. Patients that are admitted to the critical care unit here may require all or any of the following: intensive monitoring of lab values, hemodynamic pressure monitoring, mechanical ventilation, administration and titration of vasoactive and/or neuromuscular blocking agents or recovery from anesthesia.

Ultra Filtration (UF), Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Continuous Renal Reperfusion Therapy (CRRT), Impella Device, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM).

Shift: 7:00pm-7:30am

Status: Full time / 72 hours per pay

Responsibilities: The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service.

The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.

Education:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Nursing.
• BSN Preferred; BSN Completion or Professional Certification may be required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Valid Ohio RN license.

Experience:

• Minimum Level of Experience

Skills:

• Must be able to multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor.
